Basically the idea was to set her up so she would get a rein cue to go to one of the targets, if she went with the rein cue she got c/t right away, if she went to the other target I halted her along the way to the target, c/t of course, and c/t for targeting. She did ok! It was new for both of us, I had to ditch my dressage whip because there was just too much in my hands, turns out I didn't need it at all!! I didn't have to remind her what 'walk on' meant, so apparently she's got that! (I think the targets helped with that haha!!) She was great for halts too, almost always responding to my verbal cue, and I would lift the reins - barely making contact on her halter. I added the halt rein cue in because that's what I'll naturally do once in the saddle.
There were a few times when she got it right, listening to the left or right rein cue and going off towards that target. She's so obsessed with the targets it's stupid LOL. she just continuously 'beeps' them. Guess that can't be a bad thing right!?! I think with more sessions she'll get better, just a bit over excited to see her beloved targets out. Also I think she'll realize that there are a lot more opportunities to be clicked than she previously thought.
Overall good session, very hot though!! Rocky is doing fantastic too, I got three steps out of him a few times. I'm really keeping his sessions short, since the whole walk on thing can be a bit monotonous, where as Daisy is getting a bit more time, because she has multiple behaviors. Can't wait til Rocky is up to speed too, he'll get there, I still appreciate his try.
